I haven't drawn since I stopped smoking, so yesterday I drew, and here's my first non-high drawing in so long.

David Weld's Sanctuary

So I went to David Weld's one day and saw the most beautiful scene I've ever seen, and tried to draw it, but ended up with this because of certain conditions. But it's the same exact scene as the next picture, just umm, in two different mindsets.





A few weeks later, I painted as much as I could remember, but things fade from your mind faster than you'd think, and even a picture of it didn't spark everything I saw that day, but still, it's a painting that sums up so many memories, not just that one day, 'cause so many memories took place there.

Also, it was my first time seriously painting, and I got so into it for the first time ever, stayed up all night painting it and got into Skeletal Lamping that night too. Such a great journey from process to process to finish.

I drew exactly what I wanted to draw for every second of this. It feels so good to do that and not worry about an overall image. Blissful intentions.

Another Coloring Book Page

So I gave away the coloring book I've been working on for a few weeks today. Here's another page I made a few days ago:



Seriously I've been thinking so much about making other people have fun with coloring books, and I really wanna try new things to do this. Not even art things, but like, anything. Lots of people don't do much anymore (including myself) and I wanna get back into like, fun little activities/events to have fun with people. I just played Spit with someone last night 'til 6:30 in the morning. I feel like making up games must be so fulfilling when you actually make a fun game without ridiculous flaws. I mean, the creative process would be fun, and you can get so much time out of playing it. I think making a game is my next task, so I'll be back with that eventually hopefully.

on black and white 35mm film i took a picture of the back of an old scraped up air conditioner, then while developing it i stuck my finger and the grain seeker under the enlarger and used them to block out the light... after that i drew in the details with a sharpie and used white out on the areas that needed more white.

well i started drawing abe lincoln via sharpie on an empty postage stamp sheet and sorta got carried away... which is no excuse for how weird this is--actually, that probably only adds to the weirdness. but i still kinda like it

used to make a lot of drawings/collages similar this one. this blog is sorta reminding me that i should keep doing so. hooray for initiative! thought it was fairly appropriate to post this one near valentines day.

Well lately my doodles have turned into awkward "pointalism" paintings. This is just one of them.
The pictures don't do this cute elephant justice, unfortunately and the colors are a little different in person but I tried.

Art is fun. But not everyone tries to be creative because if it doesn't give social gratification, then it's not that much fun to them. I always liked when people I didn't know draw actually like, draw. But they don't show anyone. It shows that art isn't just a social thing, and that you can have fun doing it without showing it off.

But hey, imagine if your favorite musician never showed his songs? What if one of those really lo-fi sounding bands that seems really shitty upon first glance but then you get really into it for some reason but nobody else likes it didn't show his music to anyone. My drawing teacher was in love with the only project of mine that I didn't like. I don't really give a credit to what taste says.

Anyway, making coloring books for people is so much fun because it gives the people who don't put the effort into being creative a little boost. And coloring is fun! I'd love to make more coloring things. I really wanna make a big one then like, make lots of copies of it.
